Hey there – I’m Tim, founder of TrickTravel, low-cost holiday enthusiast, and dad of three little explorers (aka chaos agents): Freddie, Evelyn, and Ivy. Together with my brilliant wife Nat (logistics manager, snack supplier, and co-pilot), we’ve made it our mission to prove that family travel doesn’t have to be expensive—or dull.

Before launching TrickTravel, I spent over a decade deep in the world of budget travel—researching, testing, and living out low-cost trips to some of the most unusual corners of the globe. From cheap flights to far flung destinations to surprise gems in the Balkans, I’ve tracked down more hidden deals and weirdly cheap flights than I can count.

I’ve helped plan holidays on shoestring budgets for families, solo travellers, and even the occasional sceptical in-law. And now, I’m bringing all those tips, tricks, and hard-earned lessons to this site—so you don’t have to spend 14 hours in flight forums trying to figure out how to get to Sardinia for £12.
